When starting a new website, SEO, or digital marketing project, one of the first steps is granting access to your existing Google tools. This allows us to properly manage tracking, analyze performance, and optimize your online presence—without disrupting your current setup.

Below are step-by-step instructions for securely providing access to Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.

Google Tag Manager (GTM)

Google Tag Manager allows us to manage tracking scripts (like Google Analytics, conversion tracking, and marketing pixels) without modifying your website’s code directly.

How to Grant Access

  1. Go to: https://tagmanager.google.com
  2. Select the correct Account and Container
  3. Click Admin (gear icon in the bottom left)
  4. Under the Account or Container column, click User Management
  5. Click the + (plus) button → Add users
  6. Enter the email address we provided
  7. Set permissions:
    • Container Permissions → Check:
      • View
      • Edit
      • Approve
      • Publish
  8. Click Invite

Best Practice

We recommend granting full container access so we can implement and troubleshoot tracking without delays.

Google Analytics (GA4)

Google Analytics provides insights into how users interact with your website, including traffic sources, user behavior, and conversions.

How to Grant Access

  1. Go to: https://analytics.google.com
  2. Select the correct Property
  3. Click Admin (bottom left gear icon)
  4. In the Property column, click Property Access Management
  5. Click the + (plus) button → Add users
  6. Enter the email address we provided
  7. Assign the following roles:
    • Viewer
    • Analyst
    • Editor
  8. Click Add

Optional (Recommended)

If available, also grant:

  • Marketer role (for managing audiences and conversions)

Best Practice

We recommend Editor-level access so we can configure events, conversions, and reporting properly.

Google Search Console (GSC)

Google Search Console helps monitor your website’s visibility in Google search results, including keyword rankings, indexing status, and technical SEO issues.

How to Grant Access

  1. Go to: https://search.google.com/search-console
  2. Select your website property
  3. Click Settings (left-hand menu)
  4. Click Users and permissions
  5. Click Add user
  6. Enter the email address we provided
  7. Set permission level to:
    • Full
  8. Click Add

Best Practice

Full access allows us to submit sitemaps, troubleshoot indexing issues, and monitor search performance effectively.

Security & Ownership Notes

  • You remain the owner of all accounts at all times
  • We recommend adding us as a user rather than sharing login credentials
  • Access can be revoked at any time from your admin settings
